Hello, I'm Steve — known formally as Kleman István. I'm a Hungarian painter based in Hungary, creating dramatic, atmospheric scenes that capture the magic of light and shadow.

My specialty is painting moody seascapes, stormy skies, and tranquil landscapes — moments where nature creates theater. The moonlit harbor, the lighthouse beam cutting through darkness, the play of light on water — these are the scenes that inspire me.

My Unique Approach

Unlike traditional canvas, I paint on bútorlap (furniture board) — a 3-4mm thick material that gives my work a distinct, modern edge. It's more affordable than stretched canvas, which means I can offer stunning original art at accessible prices.

I've developed a fast painting technique that allows me to work efficiently without sacrificing quality. This means quicker turnaround on commissions and the ability to capture the spontaneity and energy of a scene.
